How to Anchor a Fishing Kayak

I had a request to make a video on how I anchor my kayak when fishing for catfish. In this video, I go over the equipment I use, how I attach the anchor to my kayak, and also some safety considerations you need to think about.

When watching this video, please keep in mind that I fish on the Tennessee River. I am mostly on either Fort Loudon or Watts Bar and the current flow isn’t very fast where I fish. Most days it is around 0.5mph. I also fish out of a very stable kayak. Please use extreme caution when anchoring your kayak. Never try to anchor in fast moving water and don’t attempt anchoring at all if you are unsteady in your kayak. Also, please always wear your PFD. It may save your life in the event that the unthinkable happens.
