VIDEO: Blind kayaker completing the descent of the Zambezi canyon.

“Out of sight, out of mind” Blind kayaker completing the descent of the Zambezi canyon.

It’s very fair to be scared of the Zambezi white waters, and very common to be scared of the dark. Lonnie Bedwell has been blind for about 20 years and had been a kayaker for about 2 when he puts in for a rip down to the Zambezi Gorge.

Lonnie already completed the descent of the Grand Canyon of the Colorado river with another blind athlete, Erik Weihenmayer, back in 2014.
He adds up a glorious section of white water to his list of achievement.
We wish him to do a lot more in the next years!

This incredible story was part of the “Dream Line Ninja” project, an instructional DVD project for white water kayaking led by Steve fisher.
